So today I began my 15th year of teaching and couldn't be happier (well except for the heals I wore which killed my feet). I helped little ones to their unknown classrooms, helped students find the office, walked kids to their parent's cars at the end of the day and so many more things. It truly is the little things that I enjoy about being a teacher.
It's the enthusiastic "hello" from across the room...it's the goofy hugs when they first see you...it's the struggle I have remembering all of their names...it's everything! My heart grows by leaps and bounds on the first day of school. I wish I could bottle up this feeling so when I have a rough day, I could open it up and feel better.
We as teachers support our students with our own money...we go to their sporting events and concerts...we stop by their houses for home visits...we care! We do so much without a single thank you...a well done...a pat on the back...
Well, today I want to thank all of my past teachers...because of them they made me who I am today...they made me love teaching and want to go after it...THANK YOU Mrs. Carver, Mr. Gornall, Mr. Newton, Ms. Godez, Mr. Maghee, Mrs. Rall, Mrs. DeSilva (who taught me typing (so glad I learned how to type) and so many more. Thank you teachers for what you do and for the difference you are making in so many lives.
