So every summer I have great aspirations of getting a lot done...
Things I have done...
I wanted to paint my classroom...yep
I wanted to paint a tree in my bathroom...yep
I wanted to paint my daughter's room...yep
I wanted to grow my PLN...yep
I wanted to start blogging...yep
Things I haven't done...
I wanted to sew a few things...nope
I wanted to read a bunch a books...nope (only a couple)
I wanted to reorganize my kitchen...nope
I wanted to nap every day...nope
I wanted to spend more time at the pool this summer...nope
So I didn't get done as much as I would have liked but I have done one huge thing that didn't involve paint, computers or books.
I, along with my family, welcomed a new member into our home. She's a 28 year old woman who is a gift from God. She's been down a few roads of disappointment but just last week celebrated her nine month sobriety anniversary. This is the longest she's been clean...ever! She has taught me more about life and what it has to offer than any book ever could. I have watched my husband grow into a man who desires to be a daddy unlike the one she had and for that matter, we all had! Because of her I have broken down my preconceived notions surrounding human trafficking and drug abuse. My family has found a purpose greater than ever imagined...we are here to show her what a family is to look like, sound like, feel like, smell like and taste like (okay, maybe not taste like). She's the missing piece to our puzzle.
My hope is that you find your purpose in life...be that in your career, your home life, your church life or whatever life that is needing a purpose.
