The summer's here in full force. I've gotten my burn and tan from the pool and have watched my kids ride their bikes for endless hours in the cul-de-sac. I've sprayed my share of sunscreen and filled many a water bottle. I've spent many hours watching my daughter play softball and have watched her and the other girls improve over the season. But while all that has been happening, my life as teacher hasn't ended...
My summer so far has also been filled with professional development. The school I teach at is becoming a Leader In Me School so my summer started with a three day training learning about the seven habits of highly effective people. It was a fabulous training that opened my eyes to me...how I work, how I think and how I need to prioritize things in my life. Three days that I'll never forget.
I also had the honor of receiving one of the newest MacBook Air Laptops in my district. We had to be invited and participate in mandatory training in order to be given one. It's awesome and I can't wait to get my cover and sleeve to further protect it. I learned so many different shortcuts and new things I never know my laptop could do...pretty cool!
I have also had the opportunity to welcome a new member into my family this past week. She's a great young lady who is excited about life's new adventures coming her way.
I am excited about becoming more in touch with my passion of teaching and leadership and am excited about the opportunities coming my way and the way I can help impact other teachers. Come along for the ride...
