Do you have other hobbies/interests that you bring into your classroom teaching? Explain.
I love putting puzzles together therefore I bring in puzzles for my students to work on and assist them in their learning process. Many of my students have never manipulated a puzzle or seen how they are put together so we learn together. I also thought about bringing in a large 1,000 piece puzzle to keep in my room for students to take a break from learning or from their classrooms and find a few places for pieces during their break. I find puzzles to be calming but they also challenge the brain and I feel in turn help our little brains learn and retain information. Some of my students this year who have never worked with puzzles before are so excited to put them together with me now when at first they were apprehensive.
I also bring my love of singing into my classroom and seem to be able to turn anything into a song. I dance while I'm walking through my room and halls because I just have so much fun doing what I do. I encourage my students to sing loud and proud even if they are wrong...it's fun to make mistakes and learn from them.
My students are so willing to do my crazy things with me in my classroom...they make my teaching better and make me a better person!
